Program 1: Outdoor Festival of the Arts in Historic Eatonville

Come out and join us at the outdoor festival for a fun filled day of interactive educational experiences

Date: Friday January 31, 2020 from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Location: In in the Community Park, next to the Library & Along E. Kennedy Boulevard

Free & Open to the Public

Zora!™ STEM Activity Hub

PEC has partnered with eSTEAMed Learning, Inc to provide our K-12 students with the Zora! STEM activity hub. Students will be able to engage in STEM and STEAM project-based learning activities that will allow them to explore crosscutting concepts based on the Next Generation Science Standards as well as the K-12 Computer Science Framework. The Zora! STEM activity hub will be available each day at the outdoor festival (1/31-2/2), but we ask that you register for Friday January 31st, as we expect to accommodate a large number of students

STEM with Orange County Library

PEC has partnered with the Eatonville Branch of the Orange County Library System to provide our students with STEM play-based learning opportunities. Students will be able to build and play with the newest devices in science and technology. There will 40 min interactive stations on Friday, January 31st at the following times:

  • 10:15AM – 10:55AM
  • 11:10AM – 11:50AM
  • 12:05PM – 12:45PM
  • 1:00PM – 1:40PM
  • 2:00PM – 2:40PM

Meet the Author: Nic Stone at ZORA Festival

The Eatonville Branch has also provided our students with the opportunity to meet an African American New York Times bestseller and author of the novel, Dear Martin, Nic Stone. Hear her story as well as learn more about her novel! You will also have to chance to purchase an autographed copy.

Program 2: 7th Annual ZORA! STEM Conference for Middle School Students

P.E.C. has partnered with Orange County Public Schools, Valencia College, UCF College of Medicine, Orlando Science Center, and the National Center for Simulation to provide our middle school students with an interactive STEM conference that will allow them to engage in STEM activities that focus on medical science, physics, coding, robotics, and space. This conference has been established to provide historically under-represented students an opportunity to interact in STEM fields.
