HostDime.com, Inc. is a global data center infrastructure provider, located right here in Eatonville. Part of that infrastructure is a world-class data center. HostDime would like to invite students in middle school and high school to join us to learn about what a data center is, how it fits into technology overall and what types of employment opportunities are available right in your back yard when you’re ready to enter the workforce.
Space is limited. These opportunities tend to fill up quickly. Deadline to register is January 20, 2017 and all registrations are first come, first serve.
HostDime will be operating tours on Friday January 27th and Saturday January 28th. Each tour will consist of 20 students and 4 chaperones that will split into two groups. All students and chaperones must be registered in advance to attend.
January 27th, 2017 (For teachers and home schoolers)
Tours are available at 10 AM, 11 AM, 12PM, 1PM, 2 PM, 3PM and 4 PM.
January 28th, 2017 (For parents and their children)
Tours are available at 10AM, 11AM and 12PM
The Saturday 12PM tour is best for students with accessibility needs. Please inform us of these needs when registering.
Adults who are chaperoning will need a state-issued picture ID to enter the data center facility. Youngsters taking the tour will be asked to sign in with their name.
Chaperones and students will check in in front of the Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts (across the street from the Library). A passenger van will take everyone to the data center site and return them after the tour. The tour will last about 30-40 minutes.
For your comfort, please bring a light sweater or jacket as the data center can be chilly. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The data center can also be noisy, so feel free to grab a pair of ear plugs next to the entry door to the data center floor.
