Meeting Ernestine McWhite

Ernestine McWhite’s family moved to Eatonville in the 1940s.  She became involved in gardening as a child because she had to help keep the garden, as her family ate what they grew (e.g. greens [collards, mustards, turnips], okra, red onions, sugar cane and tomatoes).  Mrs. McWhite enjoys working in the yard and has azaleas, crepe myrtle, pepper trees, and ferns.
