SOLD OUT!!! Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly to Headline ZORA! Festival Center Stage SOLD OUT!!!

The Association to Preserve Eatonville Community (P.E.C.), the historic preservation/cultural arts organization which presents the annual of the Zora Neale Hurston Festival of Arts and Humanities (ZORA! Festival) has announced that Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly will be the Headline Act on the Center Stage at the Outdoor Festival of the Arts on Saturday, February 1, 3:00 PM. The band is expected to be a hit with Festival attendees, as they are likely to play favorites such as “Happy Feelin’s”, “Joy and Pain” and “Before I Let You Go”.

 

“We are particularly pleased to be presenting Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly at ZORA! Festival 2014,” said N.Y. Nathiri, who is Festival Director and Director of Multidisciplinary Programs for P.E.C. . “With this festival we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, a milestone event. It is important to us that we are able to bring to our guests an act which will immediately set a smile on their faces. With Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly, we are able to do that because we know that the band’s music has been a staple in the soundtrack of life for many of our fans. “

 

Center Stage is an important feature of the popular Outdoor Festival of the Arts which takes place during the final three days of the nine-day ZORA! Festival, a celebration which includes theatrical productions, a museum exhibition, public talks, a HATitude Brunch and Party, an awards gala, an ecumenical worship service, and much more. This year’s festival begins on Saturday, January 25 and will run through Sunday, February 2, with the three days of the Outdoor Festival beginning on Friday, January 31.

 

Marking a return to earlier festivals, the Outdoor Festival will have a fenced boundary and, on Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2, adults will be charged $10.00 as general admission for each day. Children will be free. High school students who present a current valid high school high will also be admitted without charge. Limited reserve seating for the Center Stage concerts on Saturday and Sunday will be available by advanced ticket sales only. Reserved seating on Saturday will be $25.00 per person and on Sunday, it will be $20.00 per person.

 

The ZORA! Festival celebrates the life and work of 20th century writer, folklorist and anthropologist Zora Neale Hurston; her hometown, Eatonville, the nation’s oldest incorporated African American municipality; and the cultural contributions people of African ancestry have made to the United States and the world. The mission of the Association to Preserve Eatonville is to enhance the resources of Eatonville, to educate the public about the town’s historic and cultural significance, and to use the community’s heritage and cultural vibrancy for its economic development.
